Gulhane Park

We took a day of relaxation and spent time in my favorite place in Istanbul: Gulhane Park. The grounds are well kept, with pops of color, and completely breathtaking. At night we met up with the rest of our group who had befriended an artist in town and we went to see her studio and some of her work. While I didn't really enjoy the art, the textures and colors and even the workspace itself were beautiful and reminded me of my wish to be better at painting. We ate dinner at a traditional Turkish restaurant where a lady in the front of the restaurant was making Turkish pancakes in a glass box almost as if she was a window display.
While dinner was pretty good...we were set on finding a classic dessert. McFlurry's!
I ate so much ice cream on our trip, but I definitely don't regret it.

Trying Sahlep, a local drink (think a warm, milky, less tasty Chai)
Blackberry McFlurry. Hit the spot, great ending to my day.
